Why Choose Us?

Health Care of South Florida has a dedicated team of home health aide professionals who value the health and wellbeing of our clients. Home nursing care is more than just a job to us. We actually befriend our clients and tend to their daily needs with care and support in mind.

We possess all the necessary credentials to operate our home health care services in South Florida. Not only are we licensed by the State of Florida Agency for Health Care Administration, but we’re also accredited by the Community Health Accreditation Program as well.

CHAP is a historic accrediting program for community-based health care organizations in the United States. Only the most reputable and skilled health care organizations receive their accreditation. We are proud to be one of those organizations.

Since 2005, Health Care of South Florida has offered home care services to people of Broward County and Miami-Dade County. People love the convenience and comfort of getting to stay in their own homes as they receive care from our professional home care workers.

Our mission is to apply advanced and innovative health care techniques and strategies to rehabilitate our patients and to ensure they’re comfortable in their homes.

We know that patients want to be independent and perform the daily activities they used to perform. It is how they can regain their dignity and self-respect again. These are powerful emotions that mean a lot to people. Our home health care workers will do everything possible to make it easier for patients to live their lives to the fullest extent possible. The Types of Home Care Services That We Offer

Every patient requires a different type of home care, depending on their specific health condition and ailment. Health Care of South Florida offers a wide range of home care services to accommodate each patient’s physical and mental condition. The most common home care services we offer includes:

Skilled Nursing – Nursing is the most common home care requested. A highly trained and licensed nurse will provide personalized care to the patient in their home. The nurse will assist the patient with common daily activities and rituals, such as preparing food, administering medication, caring for wounds, bathroom assistance and so on.

Speech Therapy – Speech disorders are experienced by people of all ages. Our speech therapy services are reserved for anyone who has difficulty speaking because of a physical or mental health condition. The patient will work with a speech therapist to learn how to communicate, swallow, and mentally process their thoughts of words.

Physical Therapy – Physical injuries or illnesses can make it difficult for a person to move around and perform normal daily activities. Our in-home physical therapy services can help the patient restore their mobility and move around on their own again. Each patient will achieve a different level of mobility, depending on their health conditions.

Medical Social Work – When a patient is dealing with the trauma of a physical injury or some other life changing experience, they need to know their options going forward. Our medical social workers can visit patients at their homes and assess their specific medical needs. Based on the results of the assessment, we’ll recommend which type of healthcare service they’ll need going forward.

Occupational Therapy – Injured or sick patients have a desire to become independent again. Occupational therapists assign specific “occupations” to patients as a method of helping them recover from their disabilities. These occupations are jobs which essentially train patients to become independent again when performing certain tasks for themselves.

Home Health Aide – A home health aide is a standard care provider who focuses on fulfilling the basic everyday needs of the patient. These needs might include walking, showering, cleaning, laundry, transportation, cooking and bathing. Home health aides are not nurses, but they do have the knowledge to manage the patient’s medication and ensure they take it at the appropriate times.

The Patients We Serve

Health Care of South Florida does not discriminate against any patient based on their age, race, sexual orientation, gender or any other reason. We provide equal opportunities for personal home care services to everyone in the South Florida area. Our employees are trained to respect the diversity of our patients and to treat each one equally.

We customize our home care services to accommodate the specific physical or mental health condition of the patient. Here are the most common conditions of our patients:

Alzheimer’s Patients – It is not easy for any patient to live with dementia or Alzheimer’s disease. Their caregiver needs to be specifically trained in how to manage the care of an Alzheimer’s patient and provide comfort to their family as well. Our Alzheimer’s caregivers have received this training and can offer this specialized care to your loved one who has Alzheimer’s disease.

Senior Patients – Senior patients are usually over 65 and suffer from one or more long-term illnesses. They’ll require ongoing care to assist them with living an independent lifestyle in their homes. Our caregivers are experienced at caring for senior patients and helping them live their lives comfortably.

Accident Patients – Anyone can experience an accident that renders them disabled. After a patient is released from the hospital, they might still require long-term home care to help them recover from their severe injuries. Our accident caregivers are trained to work with accident victims and help them with their recovery.

Stroke Patients – It is very difficult for a patient to recover from a stroke. They might never be able to function the same way ever again. If your loved one suffered a stroke and needs assistance with their daily activities, then we can send over a certified nursing assistant to work with them each day. We’ll focus on teaching them how to perform normal daily activities in their current condition, so they can become independent again one day.

Hospice Patients – Terminally ill patients require hospice care toward the end of their life. Our hospice care providers not only work to ease the pain of terminally ill patients, but they also counsel family members in dealing with their emotions over the situation as well.

Short-Term and Long-Term Care

You can decide how long you’d like to retain our services. We offer both short-term and long-term home health care services. Some people might choose short-term care if they’ve suffered an accident or injury and need assistance while they recover from it. On the other hand, long-term care is appropriate for seniors and anyone with a permanent disability that prevents them from taking care of themselves.

You can arrange how long you’d like to have a caregiver come to serve you or your loved one. We are on-call 24 hours per day, 7 days a week to serve any client in Broward County. After all, the home care needs of a patient do not stop because it turns nighttime. They will continue to need home care at any time of the day, including overnight if necessary. Our home health care workers are readily available to come right over to the patient’s home and serve their needs quickly when needed.
